The NJ Connection: Casson/DePuyt/Loucks/Sternbergh

Updated November 1, 2002

About Our Family Research

Greeting to all fellow genealogists. Many people emigrated from Europe to create American families. In my family tree, the Casson branch (Robert & Agnes Harper/Harkgrith) came from England and settled in Paterson, NJ (circa 1833); the DePuyt (dePuijt) branch (David and Maria Sarah DeReu) came from The Netherlands and settled in Paterson, NJ (circa 1880); and the Loucks and Sternbergh branches came from Germany during the Palatine exodus and settled in Schoharie, NY (circa 1710). I have always loved listening to the different famiy histories and stories of my ancestors, which has lead to my interest in genealogy. If any one reading this page would like to share information regarding the above family names, I would be happy to correspond with you.
