About Our Family Research

This is the male line starting with My father: John Wilfird Colin Cassidy dob 11-02-1913 @ Sunderland, England. Now deceased. Emigrated to Australia and initially worked on the Darling Downs, Queensland, where he met my mother Helen Alice Grafton dob 19-03-1916 @ Chinchilla, Queensland, Australia. They were married in Ipswich at the Catholic Church.
His Father: John Cassidy dob 01-07-1881 @ Southwick, Sunderland, England. Emigrated to Australia late in life. Is buried at Nanango, Queensland, Australia.
His Father: Joseph Cassidy dob 1855 @ Hylton, Sunderland, England. We have a marriage certificate but we can't find a DOB or DEATH Certifiate.
His Father: Peter Cassidy dob 1824 @ (?), Ireland. Peter died on 19-10-1894 at 22 Glebe Cleft Villas U.S.D.[sic]; aged 70yrs.
The Cassidy's including Joseph & Peter were Potter Journeymen.
Peter Cassidy married Elizabeth but we don't know any more about the Ireland connection, except word of mouth suggests he came from Newry (not sure about this.) We have census records showing his family and their ages.
Peter's son in law was R. Dale who married Margaret Cassidy - still researching this.
