La Familia Cazares
What follows is only the very beginning of an attempt to trace our family line. It is based on information received from family members and legal documents such as marriage and death certificates. Every attempt has been made to be as accurate as possible. The information given here is only the record of family events which I had access to. By all accounts this should not considered a completed work. It is a work in progress. At this point one could consider it only a brief outline of our family's past. The hope is that it will expand as more information is obtained and submitted and as our family continues to grow.
In order to keep things simple I have followed, in parentheses, names with both dates and places of births.
Originally our family line is traced to Sonora, Mexico. Our family reunions have been a celebration of Victor and Santos Cazares and their offspring. Victor Cazares (March 3, 1865, San Elizario, Texas) His parents were Avato Cazares (Texas) and Pabla Castillo (Texas). They had at least six children.

He brought all his eight children and grandchildren to Los Angeles. Ten months after the trip Victor Cazares at the age of 57, died of stomach cancer. Tomas Cazares then took the role as head of the household. From this point we will follow the record of Tomas Cazares the 6th child of Victor and Santos. On January 24, 1925, at the age of 58 his mother Santos Cazares died, she had been suffering with Renal Urena which was complicated with asthma. Tomas and the rest of his family continued to live together until his sister Santo married and moved out. At this time nieces and nephews went to live with other family members.
