My quest to search back on the family history began in 1991. The information I have gathered came from many different resources. When possible I have copied those resources for the family records. My goal is to find out how far back in American history my family goes. Most of my search stops on an ancestor when I found the year and country they immigrated from. On the Gallop/Joy side of the family I have trace back over 370 years.
I greatly regret any errors, either factual or typographical, such as: spelling of names, wrong dates or errors of any other sort. I have made every effort to get all the records correct, however, it has been difficult to read names and dates from original documents, and some documents have errors, which were made by the record keeper of the time.
This family history is small in comparison to other family histories and I apologize now if I have omitted anyone. If any information is found in error, or if there is any additional information found which I have not included, please email me at so I can update information for future revisions.
