Nicholas Arellano of Southern Nayarit near Jalisco

Updated August 28, 2004

About Our Family Research

I believe the family to be from southern Nayarit or maybe from the area of Aguascalientes. They also my have originated from southern Zacatecas near the Jalisco boarder. My Great Grand Father was born in 1869. His name was Nicholas Arellano. His mother's name was Guadelupe Herrera. She was born in Spain. She had Strawberry Blond hair, Blue eyes and was considered to be a very beautiful woman. She had European features and was of a thin build. Nicholas' father name was Tellesforo Arellano. He was also born in Spain; or his parents were born in Spain. (His lineage I am not 100% sure of.) The family seemed to be of full european descent because they where very light complected with light hair and green, blue, hazel, or brown eyes. Nicholas had a brothers named Dinesio, and Guadelupe, and he also had a sister who died at birth. His parents owned a general store that sold everything. I believe his parents, Nicholas', died of influensa around 1880. If any one has any information about this family I would appriciate it. Nicholas came the the U.S.A. with his wife and children around 1923. His wife's name was Fillica (Santillan). They came to California
