Surname was misspelled in the register of births in Montpelier, VT. (Newburgh) he tried to get it changed but was advised that it was not necessary to do so by probate court judge in Montpelier, VT on 15 Aug 1941.
His brother Paul Frederick and he enlisted in the service together; passed away on the same day (4 years apart), the services were the same hour and date.
