Notes for Jack Michael Champaigne: Attended Lincoln grade school in South Bend, In. I was president of the 8th grade class. Half of the Lincoln students went to Riley and half went to Adams. Feeder schools for Adams were Jefferson and Nuner. The Lincoln students had a hard time assimulating to either of these groups. I graduated from John Adams High school in 1961. We were mid-term students which allowed us 4.5 years of education. I was able to take 10 semesters of math and was president of the Math club. The school was crowded so our home room was in the basement next to the "Little Theater". We entered the annual bicycle race (Little 500) and won three years in a row. Other team members were Sam Dariko, Jack Beebe, Dave Davis and my brother Jim. I attended Purdue University in Lafayette, starting in Fall of 1961. I left after 5 semesters and went to Sacramento, CA to live with my older sister Nancy and her husband Bill. I attended American River Junior College taking classes in accounting and business law. I then took more classes at Indiana University extension in South Bend. I returned to Purdue in 1966 and was among the first residents in the new McCutcheon Hall. In 1967 I was among the first residents of the new Harrison Hall. I was a staff member, called floor counselor, my senior year (graduated BSEE in 1968) and again for my one year of graduate study. Harrison had gone co-ed that year and that's where I met Carol Thie, a counselor on the women's side of the hall. We married right after that school year, July 5 of 1969.
I then went to work for X-Cel Controls in South Bend until 1974 when I started Electronics Incorporated.
