This area will cover the research I have done on my adopted family. I grew up with my Granny telling wonderful stories of her family, one-room schoolhouse, covered wagons, etc. My other grandmother was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, DOC and DAR. Lots of family history. Both my folks were only children so I am the only one bringing their history down for my children. I started working on albums and things just got carried away. Everybody landed in Texas for the last 3 generations, but then it goes back through Arkansas, VA, S.C., France, England....
In Texas, they settled around Lufkin (Andersons/Townsends) and Mansfield/Fort Worth (Burketts and Griffith). Many still live in the areas but as with all families we have scattered.
I'm interested in collecting stories as well as lost cousins. The blood line obviously means pittly-squat, but these people shaped me by their lives, not their blood.
Hope to hear from you!
