My family usually has a reunion in the summer at my great grandmother's cottage near Chaumont, NY. Our cousins in Boston, MA come to it when they can.
The reason why the title of this page is "The Chiumiento/Chiumento family of NY and Boston" is because when my great grandfather first came over to the US from Italy they had screwed his last name up and dropped the "i" changing our last name to Chiumento instead of Chiumiento. His brother came over later and immigration got it correct. They lived in Boston for a while and then my great grandfather moved to Watertown, NY and had a family descending down to me with the name Chiumento. His brother remained in Boston and had a family there descending down to our cousins with the name Chiumiento.
I have my BA in Archeology and for one class I had to do a geneology project of my family, I have been interested and trying to pursue it ever since.
