About Our Family Research


My Great-Grandfather William Chrzanowski and my Great-Grandmother Feliksa Chrzanowski emigrated from Poland around 1912 on the George Washington. Before sending for his wife, William lived in Jersey City and worked on the Holland Tunnel in New York City. After he made enough money he sent for his wife, a dress maker. They then purchased a homestead in Northern New York on the Tug Hill Plateau. My main source of knowledge has come from my Great Aunt Stella, the daughter of William and Feliksa.
