My father's family (Anthony Chrusciel) was born in Rutland, Vermont. A few years later, his mom took he and his two sisters back to Poland where he lived there with the rest of his siblings. When he was about 15 years old, his older sister, Sophie (who came back to the states earlier) sponsored him to come back to Hartford and live with her. Not knowing the English language, he immediately signed up for Trade School and did very well. He found a job in a bakery on Front Street in Hartford.

Then his brother, Joseph, and two sisters Julie and Anne also moved to the Greater Hartford area. His other two sisters remained in Poland.
