Father, Christian, immigrated from Isle of Morse, Denmark, with Mother, Maren (Steffenseon) Christensen in the fall of 1891 at the age of 4. Accompanied by brothers Lars, Steve, Andrew and Christian. Father Christian was given the name of brother Christian following his death at the age of seven in 1896. The family is still trying to find out what the name of Father Christian was before he was given the name of his older brother upon his death.

Mother, Amelia Holden Christensen was born and raised in Bode, IA, married Father Chris in Humboldt, IA and remained in Humboldt County for nearly all of their married life. They did spend an brief period of time in Fairmont, MN, but moved back to Humboldt.
