Jennifer Churchill's Family Tree

Updated March 25, 2002

About Our Family Research

Cheryl O'Connor of Portland, Michigan, has sent me the compilation of her years of research of the O'Connor lineage of Hubbardston, Michigan. Bridget O'Connor came from County Louth, Ireland, in 1849 to escape the potato famine. Her mother, widow Julia O'Connor, and brothers and sisters, soon followed. They lived in New York state for several years before moving to the Irish farming community in Hubbardston, Michigan; in North Plains Township. My name is Jennifer Churchill and I can trace my lineage to Bridget through my mother's (Vicki Cunningham) side of the family and can trace my lineage to Bridget's brother, Richard O'Connor, through my father's (Patrick Churchill) side of the family. I will try to continue putting up photos and information of O'Connors, Churchills, Cunninghams and others in our family as I find them. Cheryl O'Connor has done a huge amount of research; the book of our family tree she recently sent me is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received! Also, I recently received a wealth of information from the other side of my family: the Slocum side. My mother's mother, Charlotte (Slocum) Cunningham, is the daughter of Wilma (Harris) Slocum and Virgil Slocum. Charlotte's brother, Richard Slocum (my great-uncle), recently gave me copies of the Slocum family tree, which I will also add to this site, along with family photographs dating from the mid-1800s. Knowing and understanding one's past and family is a very important part of self-understanding, and has been a joy for me to discover. Any information relating to our family tree is welcome; please feel free to contact me!
