Finn Family Tree, Oswego, NY Updated August 8, 2005
About Our Family Research
My mother I have researched Census Records, interviewed elder family members, and matched some information through the Teifke from Oswego, NY. In addition, the late Edward James Finn, Jr. of San Antonio, TX (originally from Oswego, NY) had done a great deal of research of his own before he died in 1999.
My goal is to make a connection in Ireland through the Finn line and a connection in Canada (French) through the Barbeau line. We have also heard of a place in Canada called Barbeautown (sp?) which is an area of land which was deeded to Samuel H. Barbeau by the Canadian Government for his duty in the military. We know that he was born in Quebec and believe that he come over to Oswego for a time then returned to serve in a war, for which the land was given, finally returning to Oswego. The Finns we know to be from Clifden, County Galway.
