I have been doing some research for my family tree for years. My father Santos Cintron Silva was from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. I never knew his parents and do not know much about them at all. What I do know is that they had 7 children whose names are Santos, Higinio,Antonia,Prudencio,Reyes,Manuel and Martin. Unfortunately all are deceased except for my Aunt in Ponce. I have limited information on my aunts and uncles as I visited regularly with 3 uncles in New York while I was growing up. I only found out about my other Aunt whose name was Reyes from conversations with my brother. I do know my grandfather was Juan Alonso Cintron Matos and grandmother was Gabriela Silva Matos. They lived in the barrio "Llanos Tuna" in the early 1900's. His parents were Don Agustin Cintron and Maria Antonia Matos. Her parents were Pedro Silva and Carmen Matos.I was able to get some information from the 1910 and 1920 Census on my family. My mothers name is Lucidenia Hernandez Nieves . Her family Hernandez comes from el barrio "Cerro Gordo" in Anasco. She had 8 brothers and sisters whose names are Dominga(Minguita), Vido, Ceasar(Tuto),Doris,Franklyn,Frank, Efrain(Tato) and Antonia (Tonita). I have traced her grandparents names Justo Hernandez Alvarez and Felica Borrero Ramos from the 1920 census. It was exciting to see the names of their children and to find my grandfathers date of birth. His name was Domingo. I am not sure where the Nieves are from although I have been told that my grandmother Tomasa Nieves was born in Las Marias. I believe her parents were Pedro Nieves and Angela Nieves Martinez. My great grandmothers parents were Geronima Martinez Bonilla and Marcelino Nieves. In my case I have found that not many of my relatives know much about their descendancy, which is amazing. So I have taken the torch to find out as much as I can about my roots. In this endeavor I have also taken the initiative to investigate my wife's family whose surname is Moyano Sielfliesch.
