In 1998 my mother, Judy Latty, died suddenly from a blood clot that formed from a fall six months prior to her death. Yes, it was shocking, but more than that it made me realize that all her memories and stories died with her. It was my mother's death that motivated me to research my family history. I didn't want one more family death before I could research and find out who we were as a whole unit. I flew to Florida and interviewed my maternal grandmother and borrowed some old family photos. From there I was able to start fitting together the puzzle of our genetic tree. What an amazing tree it is and God has been with me every step of my research! I've meant wonderful people along my path and I've come to realize that God honestly chooses each one of us specifically to be in the family tree that we belong to. What do I want to accomplish through this research? I want family members to feel a sense of belonging and placement, I want them to see how unique they are and that if only one ancestor was a different person...it would drastically change who we are today. Thanks and enjoy!
