Clark/McGregor and Docherty Clans of Port Glasgow

Updated June 28, 2004

Researching Clark's from Port Glasgow and prior to 1868, Glasgow.
John Clark, born 1820, was the janitor at Glasgow High School. His son Thomas moved to Port Glasgow about 1868 and married Jessie McGregor from Lochgilphead. Have traced the McGregors back to 1776 when Jessie's grandfather, Archibald was born.
Any information on John Clark's and Jessie McGregor's ancestors would be appreciated
Also reseaching Docherty's from Port Glasgow. Edward Docherty married Agnes Murray in Hollywood, near Belfast, in 1856 and moved to Scotland from Ballyhackamore in Ireland about 1857.
Any information on the Docherty's (possibly different spelling)from Ireland would also be appreciated.

I am willing to share information that I have.

Kenneth McGregor Clark
