I believe that John Maximus Clemmons may have originally been named John Maximum Clements. He is my GreatGreat Grandfather. He was born in GA and moved his family to Geneva County, AL in the 1850's. He fathered four sons and one daughter. One of his sons was John Jasper Clemmons. John Jasper fathered eleven children. One of his sons was John Edmond Clemmons who fathered one daughter and four sons. John Edmond relocated his family to the panhandle of FL about 1909. He and his family finally settled in Calhoun County FL near Blountstown in the early 1930's. The daughter was named Iver Mae Clemmons and died in her fourth year. The four sons were Dewey Lee Clemmons, Hewey Richard Clemmons, Roy McKinnon Clemmons, and Willis Hill Clemmons. I am the son of Dewey Lee Clemmons. I have been interested in discovering members of John Maximus Clemmons Family for about 20 years. I have developed about 1800 names thus far and continue to enjoy new discoveries. Would like to hear from anyone connected to or knowledgable about this family.
