Updated November 11, 2007

About Our Family Research

So far I have traced my Clements Family Line to 1790 in Indian Territory that later became Baldwin County and later Jones County, Georgia where my GGGGrandpa Matthew Clements was born.He married a Nancy Ivey in Baldwin County, Georgia and later married Jeales Nelson Douglass and had eight daughters and two sons. I cannot find his parents or siblings to follow it any farther down the line so any help would be greatly appreciated.

One son was my GGGrandpa (John A Clements) born in Bibb County, Ga in 1826. He married Julia A Asbell and they had sixteen children but only seven lived and out of the seven my Great Grandpa James Burns Clements born in 1866 married Sarah E Lucas and moved to Texas in 1900. They had four kids (Willie Pleasant Clements, Ira Pearl Clements, Joseph Carey Clements and Julia Etta Clements) My Grandpa (Willie Pleasant Clements) was born in Macon,Bibb County, Ga and married in Texas to Hettie Lee Alexander and they had nine kids one being my father (Jackie W Clements). Please contact me if you think you have more info or related. Thank You, Jerry D Clements (jdeanc@aol.com)

My Great Grandpa James Burns Clements and family moved to the Lott/Durango area in Falls County, Texas in 1900. While in Georgia he lived in Bibb and Talbot County. He and his brother Levi married sisters (Sarah E and Mary E Lucas from Talbot Co, Ga). Mary and Levi divorced and Mary moved to Texas and married a Ledbetter. This is just a partial family history. Hope you enjoy. Jerry
