My father's family, the GROVERS of North Lancing, all worked the land. I have got back to SAMUEL GROVER, who was a Husbandman at COOMBES and married Ann Nutter there in 1774. They had 5 children, 2 sons STEPHEN and SAMUEL. Stephen married in 1798 and his eldest son HENRY MITCHELL GROVER left the Lancing area and went to BRIGHTON, prefering the building trade to working the land.Henry's second son George married Elizabeth Tidey and they had 7 children, 2 sons CHARLES, born 1872 and WALTER, born 1879. I know Walter married in 1901 and would love to make contact with any living relatives in the Brighton area.
