My branch of the Clegg family emmigrated to Canada in 1965. We have links on my mothers side to the Joneses, Hills, Fishers and Antills from around Bristol England.
The Clegg side originates in Lancashire with relatives in the Norris, Stephenson and Bridge families to name a few. My Dad and his dad are from Ormskirk, and his grandfather is from Manchester.
We have managed to trace family around the world. There are Antill descendents living in Australia, and Clegg descendents in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
My main search right now is for my maternal granmother's brother, William Charles Hill born in Bristol about 1897. He was with the Royal Marines and reportedly jumped ship in US around 1917. My grandmother had letters from him mailed from Newport News Virginia and Haskell New Jersey.
His parents are John Henry Hill and Florence Kate Hill nee Fisher.
