Clintons from Ireland and England Updated August 1, 2011
About Our Family Research
This is the one family, two great nephews of Geoffrey de Clinton (Treasury Chamberlain to King Henry 1st), arrived in Ireland from Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, respectively, between 1185 and 1189AD. Over the past 40 years I have been gathering information , as an aside to my professional work in Early Medieval History, on the family. I have placed about 500 Clintons in Ireland and 200 in England on a chart that spans from c.1066AD to present. A number of Clintons emigrated from Ireland to the USA over the centuries. I might be able to help some Clintons there to trace their ancestors. Anybody with connections to Tuscaloosa in Alabama, to take a random example, should be easy to resolve.
