My family research includes the names Coghlan, Coughlan, Coughlin, Durham, Forsdick, Roper, Grant, Hicks, Knight, Knights, Moore, Mohr,Sarty,Smith, Sutherland,Vanderburgh, Woodman, Wright,. The family names stretch from Ireland, Scotland, England, Canada and United States.
Most of our Ancestors came from Scotland, England and Ireland in the mid 1830's to Canada and settled in Quebec or Ontario. As the train was built across Canada our family migrated west around 1885 or later.
The Vanderburgh's came from Holland and settled in New York and later settled in Ontario as United Empire Loyalists. The Durham family lived in the Jefferson County of New York in the mid to late 1880's.
