Obituary of Larkin Dempsey says that he died suddenly at his
home in Marshall, Texas. Came to Marshall with ex-governor Brown
in the construction of the Texas and Pacific Railroad in 1877.
Married Addie Banner Lotspeich of Weatherford in 1884, she
having died five years earlier [than he]. Survived by one
daughter, Miss Zuma, two sons, Curren and Lynton, one sister,
Mrs. Robert Shell, and two brothers, Nathan and John of

Larkin served alongside his brother William in the American
Civil War in Company H, 13th Regiment Tennessee Volunteer
Cavalry (Union).
