David Kimchi (son of Joseph Kimchi) was born 1160 in Narbonne, France, and died 1235.

Hebrew grammarian and Biblical commentator, also known under his abbreviated name Radak. Borne in Narbonne, France. He wrote a number of important commentaries on the Prophets, Psalms, and Chronicles, as well as on the Pentateuch. His greatest contribution was in the field of Hebrew grammar. His major works are the Mikhlol (Compendium), a systematic and scientific exposition of Hebrew grammar, and the Sefer Ha-Shorashim (book of roots), a dictionary of the bible, a highly original masterwork of Hebrew philology.
