My father was born William Eugene Stewart on December 8, 1912. He was one of eight children: Mary, Myrtle, Irene, Leedy, Simeon, William, George, and Charles. His father was William Alec Stewart who married Alice Brown and had eight children. They later divorced and Alice Brown Stewart married Walter Ottwell and had three children: Cleo, Martin, and ?. My father's grandfather was Simeon Stewart. His great-grandfather was Alec Stewart, who was believed to have come to this area on a cattle drive from Kentucky or Texas. My father married Myrtle Hayes who was born on August 1, 1916, and died February 27, 1992. They had eight children: Elsie Marie Grummel/Rexilius; Sabra Tinella Vannoy; William Edward Stewart; Doris Ellen Steinhoff; Irene Elizabeth Barnes; John Lee Stewart; Harry Eugene Stewart; and Bambi Lynn Cope.
