| I am researching the COPELAND family from Jefferson County, IN. Samuel Copeland first appeared in in Franklin and Woodford Counties, Kentucky by virtue of his eleven children born from years 1791 - 1810 in that county. He married a second wife, Delilah Plummer May 27, 1815 in Franklin County, KY. But he purchased a farm from John Bice somehow in Jefferson County, Indiana around that time and still owned land and slaves in Woodford Co., KY. I would like to find out his origin, parents, etc., and the family name of his first wife whom we believe is named Margaret. (He did not marry Delilah until after the last child was born in 1810.) Samuel died August 30, 1821 and is buried on the family farm near Canaan, Indiana.Samuel's children were Sarah, William, Eliza, Thomas, James, John, Wesley, Polly, Rachel and Milton. Sarah m. Hezekiah Young, Eliza m. John Williams, William m. Polly Maclin, Thomas m. Sallie Hopper, James m. Elinor Skeen and Polly Phillips, John m. Sallie Stewart and Eleanor Evans, Wesley m. Malinda Mitchell, Polly m. Daniel K. Mitchell, Rachel m. Henry B. Hukill (Hukel) and Milton m. Elizabeth Bondurant, Susan Kincart and Sarah Toler. We would also appreciate hearing from any of their descendants.Any information would be greatly appreciated. We are also willing to share information. The other families we are researching are Walker, Jones, Jennings, Lee, Bishop, Kiser, Hopper, Byfield, Beck, Wagle, Winchester, Windsor, McDaniel, and Madison plus others. James R. & Martha J.
