John R. Coppola of Schenectady, NY is a first-generation American of Italian descent, whose parents were Albert A. Coppola, born in New York City (and grew up in Caiozzo, Italy), and Eleanor Giannelli, born and raised in Limatola, Italy. Albert and Eleanor were married in Montreal, Canada, and came to the United States permanently, residing in Schenectady, NY. Albert and Eleanor also had sons, Samuel Coppola, currently residing in Cumming, GA, and Joseph R. Coppola, currently residing in Mechanicsville, NY.
The remaining descendants of the offspring generation that John R. Coppola is a member of comprises the following: Anthony F. Coppola, Jr., of Danbury, CN; Sandra Gentile, of Long Island, NY; Jack Gentile, of Long Island, NY; and brothers Samuel and Joseph Coppola (previously mentioned).
The Coppolas have enjoyed their third annual reunion: the first held in Saratoga Springs, NY (1999); the second held in Hilton Head, SC (2000); and the third in Saratoga Springs, NY (2002). The Fourth Annual Reunion was held June 2005 in Saratoga Springs, NY, and the fifth annual reunion will be held July 2006 in Montreal, Canada.
