Updated February 9, 2006

About Our Family Research

The Coppolas of Schenectady, NY are Americans whose ancestors came to the United States in the 1800s from the towns of Caiazzo and Limatola (near Caserta). The Coppolas are off-spring of the families Coppola (father), who arrived via New York City, and Giannelli (mother), who arrived via Canada. Mother and father were married in Montreal, Canada on November 18, 1926.

The generations of Coppolas born prior to 1920 have passed away, leaving only the generations born after 1920.

The first reunion of the generation of Coppolas born from 1920-1940 was held June 24, 1999 in Saratoga Springs, NY. The second reunion was held June 24, 2000 in Hilton Head, NC. The third was held July 12, 2002 in Saratoga, NY, and the fourth was held in Hilton Head in May 2003. The fifth was held July 9, 2005 in Saratoga, NY, and the sixth will be held in Montreal in 2006.
