About Our Family Research

First, let me enter the corrections to errors I have seen in other family trees that include us. My Wife Sheila Ann Strotman (from Louisville KY) and I were married in Hialeah Methodist Church in Hialeah FL on 19 Aug 1963. We have two daughters. Keila Ann Coppala was born on 21 Jun 1965, at the U.S. Army Hospital in Chinon, France. Leila Ann Coppala was born on 22 Jun 1975, at the U.S. Army Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany.
As to myself, I am retired U.S. Army and lived 11 years outside the U.S.A.. My personal web page is at: I was born in Shelby NC in 1942. My Mother; Aileen Shuford Coppala/Stutts was married twice. Born in 1923 in Grover NC and passed away Dec 22d 2008. Her grave is at Evergreen Cemetary in Charlotte NC in the "Shuford" Family Plots.
Since writing the above, I can add the following info about my father's side of the family. My Dad's father was Charles Wittie Coppala, Sr and his wife's name was Mabel. He started the Pioneer Plumbing Co. in Charlotte NC about 1921. His father was Michael Angelo Coppala. He came into the USA at Charleston SC from the Island of Corsica. Born in 1858 and died in 1939, he is buried in Charlotte NC at Elmwood Cemetary. He married the daughter of a Baroness of the Gambs family Coat of Arms. Granddad (C.W. Coppala, Sr) had three children. My father, Charles W. Coppala, Jr,(1920-1983.) Buried at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte NC. Edward Coppala (1921-1997). And Gloria Coppala (1923-2003). C.W. Coppala Sr, Edward and Gloria are all buried at Forest Lawn West Cemetary Mausoleum in Charlotte NC. C.W. Coppala Senior's wife Mabel Crouch(1900-1948) is buried there also. I only remember seeing her once before she died. I was six when she passed on.
Edward never married. Gloria married a man named Lee and lived in Manhattan NY. My father Charles W. Coppala Jr married a second time to Beulah Kersey Coppala, and had seven or eight more children. Five of them I knew well, Priscilla, Linda, Donna, Charles (aka Boy) and Jeff.
The U.S. Army had me overseas so many years I hardly knew the others. Beulah is buried next to Dad at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte NC. Both of Dad's Wives died on Dec 22d!
