This family history page is an attempt to gather as much information from as many descendants of Peter Brodersen who came to Tahiti from Denmark back in the mid 1800's. It is a large family that has spread from Denmark to the USA then to French Polynesia then on to New Zealand and Australia.
Anyone viewing this is invited to correct any mistakes that have been made or items that have been omitted.
It is believed that Peter Brodersen went to America probably during the time of the 'silver rush'. He either had a brother already there or travelled with one. He became a seventh day adventist and is recorded in their records as leaving for Tahiti. However, there is also a story that he may have been headed for the 'gold rush' in Australia. His boat ran aground on Fakarava in the Tuamutu Islands from where he made his way to Raiatea and ended up staying there. He married the adopted daughter of the Queen of Bora Bora, Tetuarii. They had five boys and three? girls.
