I am researching my wife's family.
Taylors:- Archibald, son of Angus and Martha Taylor, born in Skipness, Argyll, Scotland in 1790. He was a fisherman, married Mary McBride. He,his wife, five sons and his mother Martha, emigrated to Canada in 1831. He joined his sister, Mrs. Alexander Love and his younger brother, Gibert and homesteaded in the Talbot settlement on th north Shore of Lake Erie. One daughter and two sons were born in Canada.
Their third son, Duncan, born in 1819, married Margaret Campbell, settled on the north half of Lot 14, Concession 11, Yarmouth Township, Elgin County, Ontario, and they had nine chilren.
Their youngst son,Angus had eight children. His oldest son John C., married Ellen MacGregor and they had three chldren, Merle, John F. and Elsie. Their only son, John F., born in 1897, married in 1925, Louise E. Campbell, born in 1901. He served in the Csanadian Army in World War I, 1916-18. He taught school on Niagara Fall, Ontario for 44 years, retiring as principal in 1962.He passed away in 1978.
Thy had one daughter, Jean Campbell Taylor, born 1926, who married the writer in 1951. We have three children, Richard (1952), Robert (1955) and Carol Anne (1962).
