Jesse J. Jordan is my grandfather. He was married to Beatrice Pelmounter. Their children were Howard, Donna, and Betty. He had brothers named Glen, Elwood, Malcolm and Roy. Roy (the oldest of the brothers) was killed when hit by a train. There had been another brother who fell overboard on a ship. He had a sister named Beatrice. Beatrice lived and raised her family in Ashtabula, Ohio as did Elwood and Glen. My grandfather Jesse died in Cleveland, Ohio on November 11, 1942. My grandmother Beatrice Pelmounter Jordan's father was Israel Pelmounter and her mother's name was Mary. She had a brother named Curtis (we called him Uncle Coach), sisters named Elsie, Bay, and Edith. My grandmother Beatrice also had 2 daughter from a previous marriage to Art Kruegar, named Dorothy and Evelyn. My grandmother's sister Elsie was married to Sam Southie. My grandma's sister Edith and her husband later adopted my Aunt Dot and her name changed to Dorothy Prior. My Aunt Dorothy (Aunt Dot) had been married to Gordon Minor and later moved to California with her sister Evelyn (Aunt Wennie). My Uncle Gordon was very good to my dad and even had medicine flown in from New York to save my dad's life. He also got my dad a job at Cleveland Pneumatic tool shortly after graduating. My Aunt Donna married George Cole and had 4 children, Georgie, Barbara, Dottie May and Jesse, my Aunt Betty was married to Curly Haddock and had a son named Richard, we called him Dicky. Her second marriage was to Nelson Smith and they had 4 children named Betty (Tootie) Nelson (Butchy) April and Neil. My Dad married Virginia Cook and they had 5 children, Christine Evelyn Jordan-McReynolds, Jeannette Lee Jordan-Avelar, Betty Lou Jordan-Covarrubias, Sandra Elaine Jordan-Diaz and Howard Edward Jordan all living in California. My mom also has a son (my brother) Louie Rodano who lives in Ohio. We had an Uncle Arnold that my dad used to take us to visit when we were little that was Indian. I think he lived in Erie, Pa and is related some how through the Brown's but I don't have enough information yet. My grandpa Jesse Jordan had his own laundry business, dairy business during the depression. Jordan's Laundry and Jordan's Dairy. He also worked for Prudential and a tobacco store. I am sure there are still a lot of Jordan's that live in Ashtabula, Ohio that are related to me.
