These are decendants of Daniel Cowman, son of William Coomey/Cowman.
William is recorded with the names/Coomey/couming/cowming & Cowman.
The original name would probably be Comain in Gaelic.

Patrick J. Coomey born march 04,1865 in Stradbally Co. Waterford is son of Patrick Coomey & Honarah Roche.Patrick Coomey was Williams brother. He was born about 1839 and later married Honarah Roche in Stradbally June 1859.
Honarah died aged 45 after which Patrick emmigrated to the USA with his children.
