Bakker Family of Holland - Iowa - South Dakota

Harm and Aaltje (Janssen) Bakker immigrated to America from Holland. They left Holland on August 1st 1903, and arrived at Ellis Island on August 11th. Seven of their nine children immigrated with them. They were Willem, Hendrik, Heika, Hilgien (Hilda), Jantje (Jenny), Arend and Harm. Arend and Harm were twins. The family settled in the Butler Co. and Grundy Co. area of Iowa. The two sibblings that remained in Holland were John and Geertruida.
