My father Frederick Cox was born in Billingborough a village in Lincolnshire on the edge of the fens on the 15th October 1904, he was illegitimate (father unknown), his mother, my grandmother was Annie Elizabeth Cox (birth date unknown). Her father my great-grand-father was John Cox who was born in 1855 and died aged 47 in Pointon Fen near Billingborough on the the 28th March 1902,I believe he was a farm foreman. The family spent some time in Ancaster I have a `Mrs Beeton`s` cook book with a notation in the flyleaf saying `Sarah Cox Ancaster, October 16th, 1891`,there are one or two baptismal records of children here that give John Cox as the father working at Pitts Hill Farm Wilsford, near Ancaster. Beyond these details I can get no further back in time than this, (although I have not researched the Lincoln Archives yet). If anyone can add to this I would be most grateful.
