Criners of Gallia County Ohio

Updated August 29, 2008

About Our Family Research

The Family of Criners of Gallia County Ohio. Dating back to 1866 with the Birth of John E. Criner. I Will add more as I recieve it. From what I have learned so far Criner comes from German Heritage (also known as Kriner). In Gallia County, Ohio, there is a road named Kriner-Sand Hollow, which is off of Route 7 south. From the grapevine there were still relatives living on Kriner Road as of 1978. Most are buried on Mound Hill Cemetery, which is off of state route 141 approximatley 1 mile out on the left. It is a beautiful cemetery on a high hill that overlooks the town of Gallipolis, Ohio. Gallipolis is the Third oldest settlement in Ohio. I have found out that we are related to the Broyles family by John E. Criners Parents, which I will add later after verification....Look for more Criners to come!
