About Our Family Research

I am trying to trace my family history back to Ireland and possibly locate any living relatives there. The earliest information I have is of a Peter Coyle who married Hester Ramey and lived in Kentucky during the Civil War period. After the war they moved to Harrison County, Iowa to become farmers. They traveled with a covered wagon train through Missouri. They were not happy in Iowa and within a few years returned to Missouri where they are both buried. Peters children settled in and around Council Bluffs, Iowa. I think that ancestors of Peter immigrated from Ireland, possibly during the great potato famine. I would like to find out from which county they left Ireland. I am planning a trip to Ireland in the spring of 2001 and would like to visit any remaining relatives. HELP!!!!!!
