About Our Family Research

Nicolas Cuilty was born in Magdala Spain. He served in the Spanish army during the 1700s and was sent by King Carlos III to administer the town of Tehuacan in Mexico in 1784. His son, Gabino would go on to become a colonel in the newly formed Mexican army as it fought for independence from Spain. Following the independence, Gabino and his offspring would rise in stature by way of business and marital connections with the other powerful families of Chihuahua during the late 1800s. Due to the rise of Pancho Villa and his Villistas in the early 20th century, the family would undergo a great diaspra, scattering across Mexico and the United States. This page is dedicated to reuniting the family now thousands of miles apart.
