The Descendant's of Daniel Walsh and Ellen HarrisUpdated February 27, 2012 |

| What an adventure I've had in the research of the lives of our St. Louis ancestors. I have truly enjoyed getting to know the family we all have in common. I wish I had just 20 minutes to talk to some of them. There are so many question that I've yet to answer. Not just the facts that seem to elude me, but more importantly, I'd love to get to know them. What drove them. What was important to them. To gleen from them, their personalities, their strengths, their weaknesses. The investigative part of the story can be frustrating. I've done extensive digging and still have come up short with some of the facts. I've yet to get the proof I need to feel secure in placing the immigrant relatives Daniel Walsh and Ellen Harris Walsh, along with their four sons, Daniel, John, James, and Richard, on a ship or in a county in Ireland. County Cork seems to have some good possibilities. As soon as I get definitive proof I will certainly update and let you know. Although this project is moving along, it is by no means complete. There are missing facts that I will continue to research. I've relied heavily on St. Louis Archdiocese Records from St. Bridget and others, St. Louis Catholic Cemetaries Website, U.S. Census Records, Ancestry.com, and various other websites. I would like to thank Daniel F. Walsh and Margaret Walsh Quinlan for providing their memories and stories which helped guide me in my research. Special thanks to Rick Walsh who provided the pictures of Daniel Walsh and Ellen Harris. I found Rick by responding to an internet posting. He also has started down the path of family research. Rick lives in St. Louis and I met with him to share information. I will continue to build the site as I go, but I wanted to get this out on the web in the hopes that other family members might find us and contribute what information, pictures and documents they might have. If anyone wants to add any pictures, etc. I can scan them and return the originals. I hope you enjoy the website and if you have any information you would like to add or if you feel some fact is incorrect let me know. Peggy |
