The Cummings (Commons, Cummins) Family of Fall River, Ma. came to the United States from Tipperary County, Ireland. James Cummins married Catherine Ryan in Lattin Parish on February 5, 1862. The following children were Baptised: Mary 1864, Jeremiah 1864, Ellen 1866, Catherine 1868, Johanna 1870, and Patrick 1871. James, Annie, and John were Baptised in Scranton, Pa.
James Cummings' parents were Jeremiah Commons and Mary (Foley). Catherine Ryan's parents were Patrick and Ellen (Foley). They were married in Tippereary parish in 1837.
James Cummings married Alice Tope (born June 16, 1876) who was born in Liverpool, England. Her parents William Tope and Jane (Carey) were married in Fall river, Ma. on June 2, 1874. They returned to England where Alice was born. Returning to the U.S. about 1880 they had two more children, Jane and Elizabeth.
Alice and James had two children who survived. They were Charles and William. Charles married Irene Turner in Fall River, Ma. Her grandparents were Joseph Auger and Leona Gamelin born in Quebec, Canada. they emigrated to Central Falls, R.I. and were married August 21, 1874.
Irene's mother Eva was born in Central Falls on January 24, 1884. She married George Turner who was born in Fall River. His parents Ambrose and Mary A. E. (Brooks) were married in Fall River. They were born in England.
