The Cuoco's in The World Today
The Cuocos individuals who left their homes and their countries for a new life in the new world were undoubtedly corageous. Who were these early Cuoco immigrants? During the colonial era, about one million emigrants traveled to what would become the United States. From 1890 to the 1920s about 4.5 million Italians, fleeing from the wars and aftermath state of poverty and overpopulation, endured the perils of the sea and survived the often deplorable conditions on the long ocean voyage to America with little protection or provisions. Among them came the Cuocos.
After a highly sophisticated network of research resourses in Europe, North America, South America, Australasia and Africa, over 250 million records have been searched to locate Cuoco households worldwise. Statisticcal data research conducted in Great Britain, including England, Scotland, Wales and Northen Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, The United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, The Netherlands, South Africa and Italy, have indicated that so far there are 1,124 Cuoco families living in the countries researched. The total number of Cuoco households identified are: Italy 829, United States 233, France 20, Switzerland 19, Germany 12, Canada 8, Australia 2, Great Britain 1. The total estimate Cuoco population in the following countries are: Italy 2,572, United States 717, France 70, Switzerland 68, Germany 43, Canada 24, Australia 7, Great Britain 3. The most populous cities where the Cuocos reside are: Salerno/Italy 243 and New York 64 and the state of Massachussetts with 51. The most populous country for Cuocos is Italy.
Alex Cuoco was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil of Italian immigrant heritage. His father's side of the family were Italian immigrants who arrived in Rio de Janeiro after the second World War. His Mother was a native Brazilian from Rio. Alex is also the nephew of the famous Italian/Brazilian actor Francisco Cuoco. After separating from his birth father, Alex's mother came to America bringing with her Alex and Marcello, his brother. Since a young age, Alex had been active in the arts, with theatre and plastic arts. In america, Alex became a dancer working with dance companies in New York where he became inspired for his writing and photography. Alex has traveled all over the world where he wrote an infinite collection of poems and composed several collections of artistic photography. He has been in several exhibits in many foreign countries as well as in the United States. In 2002 Alex Cuoco's long awaited poetry antology entitled "VOICES OF THE HEART, MIND AND SOUL" was published and is available at Amazon.com,Borders.com, Barnesandnoble.com and your local book stores. His new fiction novel, "CHOSEN VESSEL" is being published in October of 2002 and a third one entitled "FALLEN SEEDS" is scheduled for publication in 2003. Alex Cuoco's ecentric Italian/Brazilian bacground has created a distinctive writing style signature and a free artistic universe for himself.
