Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Fleck and Czerniawski of New York and ancestors

About Our Family Research

I'm doing research on my Fleck side of the family, which is very difficult as both my parents, Celia Butenko Fleck (b1903, d1956) and Joseph William Fleck (b1903, d1962) are deceased. The Fleck side of the family were always on the outs with each other. Joseph had sisters: Louise, Mary, Anna, Matilda, and a brother, Valentine. His parents were Matilda Bergman and Valentine Fleck. Joseph was in the US Marines for 25 years.
He was at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked. His ship, the USS New Orleans, was the only heavyweight cruiser that was not hit by bombs.
This home page is a work in progress and I will be adding to it shortly. I will also add pictures.
