My research into my fathers family have taken me back to Scotland and the late 1700's Selkirk Scotland.
My great great great grandparents John and Janet Dalgliesh(nee Elliott) had a son William
My great great grandfather William Dalgliesh and his wife Elizabeth Brown and 8 of their children sailed to Melbounre Australia from Plymouth in 1855. William was a stonemason. My Great grandfather was their 3rd child Alexander Dalgliesh he married Anne Maria Bagnall and they had 15 children 11 of whom survived, my Grandfather Alfred A Dalgliesh was one of the 11. He married Paulina R Atkinson in Berrigan NSW they had 6 children, Gordon A Dalgliesh their 4th born being one of them and he is my father.The family moved from Berrigan to Wagga Wagga NSW Australia. Gordon married Anne M McKay ( Tooley) my mother and they were to have 3 children myself Gale and a brother and sister.
