Belden/Daly/Hawkins/Hopkins Families of RI

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

I'm researching the families of my maternal and fraternal
grandparents. Have had great luck with the Hawkins/Hopkins
lines, since they are old yankee families going back to
Roger Williams, but have very little to go on with the Belden/
Daly (Daley) lines. The Beldens came to RI from Sturbridge,
MA but very little can be found about them. The Daly's (John
and Mary) came over in 1849-1850 from Kilbrony, Ireland and
settled in Fall River, MA. They appear in the 1860 census, but
disappear after that. Their youngest child, Charles Edward,
was my grandfather. He married Helena Belden, and their son,
Michael Douglas, was my father. If any of this sounds familiar,
let me hear from you!
