Thompson, Columbia, Marion County, Mississippi, son of Christopher Davis and Emma Pittman.
Notes for Pearl River Gordon: Pearl had four step-children: Winnie, Otho, Roy and Donald. These were children of George and his first wife who had died. Pearl was very faithful to her church (First Baptist of Lumberton). She taught the G.A.'s for a number of years and the young girls dearly loved her. Information from her son, Martin L. (Charles Ray} is that Pearl was born on a houseboat on the Pearl River thus was named after the river. Information received on 4/6/1999 from a copy of the "Delayed Certificate of Birth" dated 3/18/1958 stated the birth date and place of birth for Pearl.
