The DAWSONS of London

Updated January 6, 2001

About Our Family Research

Researching the DAWSON family tree which is centered around the East End of London. They have been associated with the River Thames since the 18th Century where they have been employed as shipwrights, barge-builders, watermen and lightermen, river pilots and mariners. They moved with the industry along the river and lived at Shadwell, Lambeth, Deptford, Isle of dogs and Greenwich. One branch on the family moved to Camden NJ, USA and we believe another group emigrated to Australia or Canada.
