I have been doing research on Calvin Dayton born in CN in 1819; died in Crossville, TN in l876. I know his father was David Dayton of Greenwich, CN, and his grandfather was Thomas Dayton of North Castle, N.Y. and later Greenwich CN. I am interested in knowing who Thomas' father was. The only name I have is Danslow Dayton, but this name does not appear in any documents that I have found. I suspect that our ancestry traces back to Ralph Dayton, who came to America in the 1630's to New Haven, CN, then later moved to the eastern end of Long Island, N.Y. The father of Thomas Dayton is the missing link to tie us to Ralph Dayton. Since Thomas Dayton was born in the 1750's, I believe his father would have been born in the 1730's.
