About Our Family Research

I have been searching the 1830 census for the families of John Day, Jacob Troutman, Solomon Whitmire and John Stevens with no success. Their families are all rooted in Butler County, PA.

I am also searching for information on John Day whose wife was Sarah and living in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania around 1820. He was a blacksmith and reared a family of 12 children. They had a son they named John Day born in Mifflin County on March 30, 1824. Other children were; Elizabeth Day married to Jacob Womer, Ann Day married to Robert Adams, Sarah Day married to Levi Whitmore, Catherine Day married to Daniel Heckman, Prisicilla Day married to James Ogden and sons Anthony and George.

The son John Day was my great grandfather who bought a farm in Washington Township in Butler County. He married Mary A. Arner on February 18, 1847, the daughter of Tobias Arner. They had 16 children, one of which was J.C.F.(Monte) Day, my grandfather.
