I have been doing research for many years. I have gone to the States my families came from and have met wonderful relatives. They were kind and helped me a great deal. I was able to take my mother and father John and Oadie Patton with me in search of their families. Oadie lost her mother when nine years of age. At that time her father married again and took her and her two brothers to Oklahoma to live. He died five years later leaving her with a step mother that she didn't get along with at that teenage time in her life. When we took her back to Tennessee where she was born we found her Aunt Cora who had kept her and wanted to adopt her. It still brings tears to my eyes remembering this special day. Her father wouldn't allow his sister-in-law to adopt my mom and after he died my mother lost all contact with her family from Tennessee. I have many more things I could tell but will later.
